Review by Captain Ventris at GameHippo.com:
Perfect Battle is a fine blend of action and strategy, similar to Gate 88. Unfortunately, it has less units and structures than the before mentioned Gate 88, and does not have networking. However, the game has a strong multi-player mode and a campaign. The gameplay in Perfect Battle is fast-paced and fun, and involves you driving your tank about, fighting enemy fighters and other tanks. You also have a constant supply of fighters, which, with the right cash, can have speed and firepower upgrades, letting them avoid turrets and destroy them. The first missions of the campaign serve as a tutorial, that very well explains the mechanics of the game.To gain cash, you (or your fighters) collect "gold" that emerges from volcanos. The "gold" looks more like dirt, but hey. To buy upgrades, you enter your missile-armed HQ. The lack of unit vareity is a problem. Perfect Battle controls fairly smoothly, and aiming from afar is the only real problem. There are only 3 buttons besides the arrow keys, but the "change secondary" button shouldn't be END. The game, surprisingly enough, has a story- a story involving the aftermath of World War 9. I personally think mankind will most likely have completely obliterated itself and everthing else by then, but that doesn't really affect the score. There are plenty of levels, you can set teams, and the game comes with a mapmaker, resulting in a game that may entertain you and your friends for quite a while. Perfect can support up to 4 players, whether they be human or computer, and their are several characters for the computer to be, which I believe changes the AI. There can be any amount of fighters and buildings on screen at one time, a screen being an entire level. Yes, there is only one level type. I suggest playing a two on two game inside a level with lots of walls. The visuals on Perfect are fairly low quality , being simple and with few colors. This certainly detracts from the game, but the graphics are bearable. The sound is more simple than the graphics, even. Very standard, low quality explosions and mechanical doors, higher-quality computer-voice aleviates the situation. Overall, Perfect battle is a mediocre single- player game, and a pretty fun multiplayer game. May be worth a download.
